There’s something about music that makes us all want to sing and dance along, but we all too often stop ourselves from jumping in. We’re afraid of what we sound like or look like. We’re afraid that we don’t sound like Taylor Swift or Bruno Mars. Slowly, over time, in this culture, we have become passive listeners of music rather than active makers of music. We stream and we go to concerts, and maybe we even sing in the shower once in a while, but we don’t grab hold of our friends or family members and have a singing and dancing party just for fun. And we, most importantly, aren’t teaching our children to make music either.
But a Music TogetherⓇ class is different.
In our classes, it’s a come-as-you-are music-making experience. You get to sing and dance with other families in a safe and comfortable environment where no one is put on the spot or asked to perform. You will find yourself in a community of people who have always wanted (maybe even secretly) to jump and sing, and play a hand drum or two. And oh yeah, we do it with our kids! As their caregiver (parent, nanny, grandparent, etc.), you get to grab their little hands and circle the room singing together. You get to express your love of music out loud, and most importantly, by doing so, you are teaching your children to love music. And that love of music can last a lifetime. Think what the world might be like if more people could get together and make music just for fun.

Registration for winter classes at West Essex Music Together is open! We offer family classes for children ages 0-4, and “big kid” classes from ages 4-8.
